Blue Compass Therapy
Working with Margaret
My work is informed by a range of evidence-based approaches, including:
• Mindful Self-Compassion
• Motivational Interviewing
• Relational and Psychodynamic Therapy
• Parts Work / Internal Family Systems (IFS)
• Trauma-Informed Cognitive Based Therapy (CBT)
• Harm Reduction
• Somatic-based frameworks
Alongside these, I have trained extensively in trauma and psychedelic-assisted therapies, including MDMA and ketamine-assisted therapy. I earned my Master of Social Work from New York University in 2014, and have been licensed in California since 2018.
What’s the first session like?
We'll talk about what's been feeling hard, what you'd like to change, and what helps you feel at ease. From there, we'll start identifying some early steps toward relief.
My clients often describe that they leave feeling a little lighter, with a sense that change is possible.
Our work is about learning to be on your own side, even while you're still figuring things out.

Right to Receive a Good Faith Estimate of Expected Charges
Under the No Surprises Act, health care providers—including state-licensed mental health professionals—must give clients who don't have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services, including psychotherapy, preparation, KAT, and integration sessions.
Ensure your provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your session. You can also ask for an estimate before you schedule.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
